What is the Ball Tang?

The Ball Tang, which is known to the Chinese as a "dong quan," is an early style of bowling that had its origins in ancient China and India. It is the oldest form of bowling that we have today, and many of its principles have been adopted into modern day bowling.

Unlike the traditional bowling setup of a square, square bowling alley, the Ball Tang set up has four balls (or four bowls), four pins, two paddles, and two spares. To start with, the bowls are placed on their sides, but they should not be so close to each other that it will hinder the bowlers's arms, hands, or shoulders. To prevent the balls from rolling off the bowl, the bowls are put down before the actual bowling starts, and the balls are placed inside of a small hole in the center of the bowl. The holes are made in such a way that they can be used for a variety of purposes, and each hole allows the balls to travel into the bowl and onto the pins that will make the shot.

Next, the bowls are placed one at a time on the paddles and then placed on the ground so that the bowlers's feet and legs will have plenty of room to move. The first three balls are placed on their side and the fourth ball is placed inside of the hole that it is supposed to pass through.

When the bowling bowler raises his arm, the ball goes through his arm first, then goes into his hand. He uses his thumb to turn the paddle and then swivels his wrist and pulls the bowling ball back toward himself with a motion that resembles he would pull back on a bowling lane. He holds the ball just above the bowling lane and then thrusts it back over the bowl with the same motion that a professional bowler would do. After the ball has been propelled from the bowler's hand into the bowling alley, it can now be picked up by the paddle and taken back to the hole where the ball came from, or the bowlers may throw it back to the spares to shoot another time. in the hope of making a perfect shot. Once the ball has been replaced, the bowlers are asked to return the ball to the hole in order to retrieve their bowling balls from it.
